#HtotheIzzo this is absurd on so many levels. As if my opinion or commentary matters, I’m going to use social media to express it anyway. This gentleman is one of 7 covers representing different folks who made the list of 100. Not only did he make the list, the commentary written about him is penned by Michael Bloomberg the 108th mayor of New York City. The same city in which Shawn Carter was born into government funded housing projects known as the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn. The same Burroughs in which Mr. Carter now is part owner of a professional basketball team in which he held a leading role in relocating to said area. The same part of the city in which he was a prominent narcotics dealer at a time in a city that is nothing like it is today. The same city that decided no longer was Frank Sinatra’s New York New York prevalent enough to represent the place any longer and that Hov’s Empire State of Mind would replace it as official song of said place. The list represents people who have redefined boundaries and judgements. People like President Obama, Elon Musk, Bill and Hillary, Warren Buffett and a slew of people I’ve never heard of who are probably way important and super influential hence they made the list of 100 that TIME decided were worthy of such a list. Doesn’t really matter. Just overall impressed that someone who was written off for so many reasons chose to re-align his stars and end up in a place in which people of any kind can look at a story and watch the American Dream portrayed. Really that’s not that important either. Plain and simple Jay is just the man. I couldn’t care less about where he came from or what he struggled with. The man is the best at his craft and now apparently and for a while he can be looked at as a leader of the times. “I’m not a business man, I’m a BUSINESS…..man.”
